Ninja vs Philips Air Fryer: Which Pioneer Brand Wins?

Philips was one of the original air fryer brands and still leads on some material claims, like its Fat Removal Technology. Ninja has since become the mainstream default, with a wider DualZone size range and stronger brand recognition in the US market.

What’s actually different

Zone sizing philosophy. Ninja’s DualZone baskets are equal or near-equal in size, treating both zones the same. Philips’ dual-basket uses one larger main drawer (6.3 qt) and one smaller side drawer, aimed at a main dish plus a side rather than two equal portions.

Fat Removal Technology. Philips’ Premium Airfryer XXL adds a feature that states it extracts and captures additional excess fat during cooking, on top of standard low-oil crisping — Ninja doesn’t market an equivalent claim.

Range depth. Ninja’s DualZone lineup runs from 8 to 10 quarts across the DZ201, DZ401 and DZ550; Philips’ current US range is narrower.

Brand history. Philips is one of the original air fryer brands; Ninja became the mainstream US leader more recently but now has broader distribution and accessory support.

Who should buy which

Buy Ninja if you want equal-sized dual zones and the widest range of sizes to choose from.

Buy Philips if you specifically want the differently-sized drawer format, or the stated Fat Removal Technology on the Premium XXL.
